Corum Watches and Zetta Jet McLaren GT4s For The Motorsports in Action Team!

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, March 15, 2017.- The Montreal-based Motorsports In Action (MIA) team is happy to announce the arrival of two prestigious sponsors, Swiss Corum watches and Zetta Jet, who join the team in their season’s pursuit of the Continental Endurance SportsCar Challenge, with events held in both Canada and the United States. Branded in Corum and Zetta Jet livery, the two McLaren 570S GT4 entered by the MIA team will take to the Sebring track starting this Thursday.

Prestigious Swiss watch company founded in 1955 and based in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, canton of Neuchâtel, Corum is associating itself with this type of Endurance competition for the first time. “We are proud of this partnership with Motorsports In Action (MIA). The team is a dynamic one that uses McLaren cars, who are known worldwide for its prestige, its efficiency and the beauty of its products. These are all characteristics that are in common with the Corum enterprise” mentions Davide Traxler, CEO of Corum, whose family of watches include Admiral, Golden Bridge, Bubble and Coin.

MIA would like to thank and acknowledge VIAGP for making this kind introduction to Corum.

The world’s first truly personalized private airline, Zetta Jet promises to deliver the ultimate in bespoke luxury experiences to a discerning clientele with its unique experience that combines the dedicated Asian service philosophy with the flexibility and ‘can-do’ spirit of the U.S., adorned with the glamour of Europe’s enduring chic on its Bombardier fleet with ultra-long range intercontinental capabilities across the Pacific Rim.

“We are very pleased with this new collaboration with the Motorsports In Action team” indicates Geoffery Cassidy, Managing Director, Zetta Jet. “We are looking forward to following the two MIA teams’ Continental SportsCar Challenge performance on the track.”

Thirty-five teams are entered in the Continental SportsCar Challenge series’ event, taking place as part of the 12 Hours of Sebring. The two-hour race is set to start this Friday March 17th, at 3:40pm.

Promising Tests for the Motorsports in Action Team Heading Into this Friday’s Sebring Race

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, March 13, 2017.- The Motorsports In Action (MIA) team will return to action in the North American Endurance series this weekend, as its two McLaren 570S GT4s contest the Continental SportsCar Challenge event at the famous Sebring track in Florida. After missing a podium spot in the opening round in Daytona, Jesse Lazare and his teammate Chris Green will attempt to reach even higher in their #69 car, while Ontarian Kenny Wilden and American Dr. Rod Randall will team up again in the #68 car.

For the MIA team, entirely from Montreal and brought together by veteran driver and owner Eric Kerub, the hopes of claiming a good result for the team’s debut at the central Florida track, during the prestigious 12 Hours of Sebring, are legitimate ones. « We’re eyeing a good result at Sebring. It’s a two-hour race, only half of the distance completed in Daytona at the end of January. Our drivers will have to give it their all from the first to the last lap but I am confident this will happen. We’re hot off Jesse’s recent win at the 24 Hours of Daytona. He and Chris, as well as our drivers in car 68 are capable of doing very well » he declared.

The MIA team participated in the Chin Motorsports Track Day two weeks ago, with excellent performances. In addition, the Sebring circuit, similar to the tracks that will be used later in the season, should favour the McLaren 570S GT4, which was not the case in Daytona. There, car 69 was beaten at the front of the pack as a result of a small hit towards the end of the race and car 68 finished in the top 10.

Confirmed for the season at the wheel of the #69 Garaga et Pfaff car, the duo made up of Jesse Lazare and Chris Green hope to earn their first Top 5 at Sebring. In “The Advanced Cardiovascular Center of Tampay Bay” car #68, the experienced Ontario driver Kenny Wilden and Dr. Rod Randall will once again team up, after their excellent result in Daytona.

Thirty-five teams are entered in the Continental SportsCar Challenge series event, whose start takes place on Friday, March 17th, at 3:40pm.

Jesse Lazare, Motorsports in Action Team Driver, Wins the 24 Hours of Daytona

FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, January 29, 2017.- Less than 48 hours after his debut in one of the two Motorsports In Action (MIA) McLaren 570S GT4s in the IMSA Continental Challenge, Montreal driver Jesse Lazare won the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, in Florida. Entered in this legendary event as part of the American Alegra Motorsports team, Jesse and his teammates claimed victory in the GTD Class. This was a huge accomplishment for the driver and a great honour for the MIA Team, who have hired Lazare full-time this season for the Continental Challenge series.

Contesting the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona for the first time in his career, Jesse Lazare was part of a team comprising of Americans Carlos de Quesada and his son Michael, as well as Ontarian Daniel Morad and Michael Christensen, of Denmark, in the Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3-R. This team won with a margin of only two-tenths of a second, after a full 24 hours of racing. Of the 55 overall starters, they finished eighteenth.

For Eric Kerub, owner of the MIA Team, it’s a big honour to be able to count on a 24 Hours of Daytona winner on his team : « Jesse was pulling double-duty this weekend, firstly contesting the Continental Challenge in one of our cars and then racing in this 24 Hours with the Alegra team. He performed so well in both races and I have to admit that all MIA team members are proud to say that one of our own won the 2017 24 Hours of Daytona. This can only further enhance our motivation to excel for the rest of the year, with Jesse and our other drivers ».

Jesse Lazare will be back behind the wheel of MIA’s #69 Garaga/Pfaff McLaren 570S GT4 in March, during the 12 Hours of Sebring weekend.
