Kyle Marcelli to race in select Trans Am Series Events in 2015

(Richmond, VA) April 8th, 2015 – Fields Racing is excited to announce that Kyle Marcelli, from Ontario, Canada will pilot the #96 Fields Racing Chevy Camaro at select TA2 races this year. Kyle Marcelli is recognized as one of North America’s top sports car racing drivers. Marcelli is a race winning driver in the European Le Mans Series and American Le Mans Series. He will share seat time with team owner and driver Chris Liesfeld. “We are beyond thrilled with the opportunity to work with Kyle,” said Lee Quinlan, team manager at Fields Racing. “He brings a significant amount of experience, talent and perspective as we continue to develop our race program.”

Marcelli will join Fields Racing in between his full time commitments with Team Chevy Mantella Autosport in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. “’I’m pleased to join Chris Liesfeld and Fields Racing for select races this year in Trans Am.” Said Kyle Marcelli “Many of my hero drivers cut their teeth and built a career from racing in the Trans Am championship. The people that make up Fields Racing have a massive passion for the sport and desire to be successful. I hope my experience will help the team to get winning results.”

The details of which events Marcelli will join Fields Racing are to be announced soon. Fields Racing are currently working to confirm their 2015 schedule. “There will be races where I will drive, and additional events where Kyle gets behind the wheel,” said Liesfeld. “It’s going to be an exciting year for us. We took a break last season to retool our approach a bit, so the team is eager to race. We are really looking forward to working with Kyle. The Trans Am series has a ton of momentum behind it and we want to expand our contribution to that.”

This is a fundraising campaign where race car drivers pledge to donate $1 for every lap they lead to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
