Young American joins EA’s USF2000 stable at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway
BROWNSBURG, IN (May 9, 2022) – Exclusive Autosport is pleased to announce that American Joey Brienza II will make his Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship debut this coming weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The 17-year-old has already enjoyed a full year of running under the Exclusive Autosport banner in the FRP F1600 series in 2021, where he finished third in the championship. Brienza is competing in the FRP F1600 series for the 2022 season in an effort to win the title, and to log as much seat time as possible. Joey’s IMS USF2000 effort will be the first of four Road to Indy events in which he will compete this season, as he is limiting his participation to maintain his rookie status for his first full season, which is slated for 2023.
“I am very excited to announce that I will be making my Road to Indy debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” said Brienza. “IMS is such a historic track and making my debut there is going to be special. I’d like to thank Michael Duncalfe and everybody at Exclusive Autosport for making this happen, and my family for their continued support. The Exclusive Autosport USF2000 car is very fast and competitive, and I am looking forward to the opportunity! I can’t wait to get on track!”
“I am really looking forward to Joey making his USF2000 debut at IMS,” enthused Michael Duncalfe, Team Principal. “We have had the pleasure of working with Joey for the last year and a half as he has made the transition from karts to cars. He is an incredibly smart and talented young driver with a bright future ahead of him.”
