Sun Peaks BC’s Jason White to race in both ARCA Racing Series and the Gander Outdoor Truck Series

Jason White Press Release:

February 4, 2019. Beginning this week Sun Peaks, BC racer Jason White takes a bold leap forward in his racing career.  As the new race season begins at Daytona International Speedway White will be racing in both the ARCA Racing Series and the Gander Outdoor Truck Series.

“It’s a dream come true,” said White of the adventure that’s about to begin.

First up is the Lucas Oil 200 in the ARCA series where White will drive the #11 Powder Ventures Excavating / YourGMCTruckStore.com Chevrolet and the Zimmer Auto Group.  Fast Track Racing will prepare the racecar, under the direction of NASCAR veteran Andy Hillenburg.

White completed his first test session in the car at Daytona last month with excellent results.  “It was important to get a feel of the track before trying the race” said White.  “The first time you drive along the banking is something else.  The test went really well.  We learned a lot that will help us be ready to compete when we hit the track this week” he added.

Following two successful Truck series events last year with Reaume Brothers Racing White will also drive the #34 Powder Ventures Excavating / YourGMCTruckStore.com Chevrolet from the Reaume Brothers stable the following week in the Nextera Energy 200, the season opening race for the Gander Outdoor Truck Series.

Truck team owner Josh Reaume will be the Crew Chief for both events.  “I had an immediate chemistry with Josh when we did our first truck race together last year” explained White.  “Having his experience for both of these Daytona races is going to allow us to learn and improve at a quicker pace,” he stated.

White is taking a similar approach to the events at Daytona as he did last season when he stepped up to the Gander Outdoor Truck Series.  “First goal is to finish,” he said.  “I want to be respectful of guys running for a championship and we’re looking to improve every time we hit the track,” said White.

This adventure in Daytona wouldn’t be possible without the backing of long time friend and supporter Rob Zimmer and the Zimmer Auto Group.  “Rob and I go back a long way and it’s even more special to continue the relationship as we debut at Daytona, I can’t thank them enough” said White.
