R.Ferri Motorsport announces Alex Riberas as driver for 2017 @WCRacing season @RFMotorsport61

R.Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI are ready for the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge; Alex Riberas appointed as Team Driver.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (March 1, 2017) With an impressive 2nd place overall finish including three wins and seven podiums, Toronto-based R.Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI left a big impression in the 2015 season of the Pirelli World Challenge competition.

Starting next weekend on the Streets of St. Petersburg, FL, the team will look to build on a strong 2015 GT effort as R.Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI returns to the highly competitive sprint racing category in 2017 with Alex Riberas piloting the new No. 61 Ferrari 488 GT3. Already a proven Ferrari racer, Riberas is a young, talented and fast driver that has already had great success in his career, including many events in North America.

While the 2017 season marks just the third in the sprint category for R. Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI, the team brings a deep roster of talent and experience to the program. Racing is in the blood of the organization, starting with the passion and dedication of team principal Remo Ferri, and the team has years of history in the sport including strong campaigns in GRAND-AM, IMSA as well as strong representation in Ferrari Challenge.

“We are excited to be back this year in the Pirelli World Challenge with a driver that has had a lot of success with the Ferrari. With the support from the factory coupled with the experience we gained from previous years, I feel confident that we can be a very strong team. Similar to our last season in PWC, I feel that we can again compete for the championship but this time come out as overall champions,” said Ferri.

Alex Riberas, from Barcelona, Spain, will be behind the wheel of the new Ferrari 488 GT3 #61 car. He is coming off an impressive season in the Asian Le Mans Series with a Team Championship and a second place finish in the Driver’s Championship. “This is a new challenge for me and I know the car very well. I’m happy to be racing for R.Ferri Motorsport and together I feel we can have a successful year” said Riberas.

The 2017 Pirelli World Challenge GT season consists of nineteen rounds at ten prestigious venues across North America, starting next weekend in St. Petersburgh, FL. Included in the schedule is the home race for R.Ferri Motorsport at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park race track in Bowmanville, Ontario on May 19th to 21st.
