17 May 2017 – M1 GT Racing announces that drivers James Dayson and David Ostella will join the team for the Pirelli World Challenge Sprint X event this weekend, May 19-21, at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. Competing in the Audi R8 with support from the Audi Sport customer racing program, M1 GT Racing will look to continue and build upon their success.
M1 GT Racing and drivers will have a test day at the track on Thursday with official competition beginning Friday before wheel-to-wheel action commences Saturday. M1 GT Racing is the defending 2016 Pirelli World Challenge Sprint X Pro Drivers Championship winning team as well as the Vice Champion in the Sprint X Amateur Drivers Championship and overall Team Championship.
James Dayson is returning to the team after an exceptional season opener where he earned two podium finishes in the amateur category. He will make the move up to the Pro-Am category this weekend with teammate David Ostella. Ostella, the young Canadian, will be returning to M1 GT Racing at his home track after a successful 2016 season with the team. He is expected to join M1 GT Racing for more events later in the 2017 season.
James Dayson enters the event with the support of Kilauea Investments, Elite Performance and Music Heals, a charity that raises money for music therapy programs. Partners for David Ostella include Global Precast, Masters Insurance, Skyrider, AGMN, AV Consultants and Britecon Sales.
