Here’s a look at how the Canadians did this past weekend in IndyCar and the Mazda Road To Indy series at the Toronto Honda Indy weekend.

First up in the main IndyCar race on Sunday James Hinchcliffe hit the podium in 3rd place after starting in 6th, also taking the podium were #98 Alexander Rossi coming in 2nd while #2 Josef Newgarden was the 1st place finisher.

Canadian Zachary Claman DeMelo switches teams for 2017 Indy Lights Season @ZACHCD13

Zach Claman De Melo

18 year old Canadian Zachary Claman DeMelo has signed with the Indy Lights reigning champion team of Carlin Racing for the 2017 season. Zach spent his rookie Indy Lights season driving the #13 car for Juncos Racing.

Last year Zach finished in 9th place overall in the driver standings one position ahead of fellow Canadian Dalton Kellett.

Trevor Carlin commented ” We are very happy to have Zach join the team. We’ve worked very successfully with Zach before and I think together we’ll get some great results this year.”

Zach’s teammates will be Garth Rickards and Matheus Leist.

Congratulations to Alegra Motorsports and their team of drivers Daniel Morad CAN, Jesse Lazare CAN, Carlos de Quesada USA,  Michael de Quesada USA, and Michael Christensen DNK  on their first place finish in the GTD category.
